The practice focuses on core strengthening and overall body conditioning, while improving flexibility, posture, and overall mind/body awareness. Pilates can be practiced on a mat or on various apparatus that were invented by the founder himself. Pilates is not just for women or dancers in particular, but for everyone! With the correct instruction and proper safety precautions, anyone can enjoy the benefits of this form of exercise.
